This past weekend
Jan. 22nd, 2003 06:21 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
My computer crashed. I now have internet access again so whee.
I got another sinus infection/flu thing. It seems to be going quickly so again whee.
It was still a bad, bad weekend (other than talking to Rivier and Rhiannonhero and e:mailing with shawn_club and having jerminating for a housemate).
So, I've gakked the Ten boys who float my boat meme from Rhiannonhero who did the same from JacynRebekah.
1. John Glover. Don't ask. I've had a mild crush on him since I saw Julia for the first time. It has recently become virulent due to frequent watchings of Smallville.
2. Patrick Stewart. His performance as Jean-Luc Picard was brilliant and nuanced. But I've also seen him in Henry IV (right about the same time as I saw Julia, hmmmm) and Prospero in live performance. The man is mesmerizing.
3. Tom Wilkinson. I spent most of the early 1980s as a Royal Shakespeare Company groupie. His performance as Melantius in The Maid's Tragedy was a big part of the reason why.
4. Jeremy Taylor. Top tenor for Harvey and the Wallbangers. Extraordinary voice.
5. Daniel Radcliffe. Yes, this is terribly squicky for me. At last year's Oscars the producers asked various actors and directors to talk about their favorite film. This resonant and cultured British voice started to discuss 12 Angry Men. I mentally reviewed all the British actors I knew (see RSC groupiedom above) to place the voice that was making me melt. They cut to a thirteen year old boy! So, it's the voice. One day he'll be old enough that I'll be able to forgive myself for it.
6. Trevor Eve. I like him better now that he's older and grown into himself. In interviews he seems to have a sense of humor.
7. Alan Titchmarsh. Like Trevor Eve, he reminds me of my first boyfriend. Same accent, same mouth, same skewed literary sense of humor.
8. My first boyfriend. He was 16 years older than I was. We had the same taste in Jazz. When he kissed me for the first time, there were fireworks. I haven't seen him in 15 years, but there's still part of me that will always love him. Trevor Eve and Alan Titchmarsh made it on the list at least partially due to him.
9. Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor. I'm not certain whether I'd get along with the gentleman I've seen in interviews, but oh, how I lust for Lex.
10. Tom Welling. He's every woman's (and most gay men's) wet dream. I don't care about the personality; the looks do it for me. Dammit. *g*

I'm not superstitious, but if bad things come in threes then your run should be over now. Hope you'll be feeling better soon.
3. Tom Wilkinson. I spent most of the early 1980s as a Royal Shakespeare Company groupie. His performance as Melantius in The Maid's Tragedy was a big part of the reason why.
I'm desperately trying to remember if it was him I saw in 'The Crucible' at the National Theatre. I'm 99% sure it was, and it was a production that literally had me sitting on the edge of my seat, gripping the seat until my knuckles turned white. Great actor.
9. Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor. I'm not certain whether I'd get along with the gentleman I've seen in interviews, but oh, how I lust for Lex.
Word for word! I've read some things in interviews that make me think I'd like MR, and other things he has said have put me off rather, but one thing I'm sure about is his acting quality and his sheer sexiness as Lex - every move, every look is lust-worthy!

You know who Tom Wilkinson is. Huzza! One of the best parts of my mis-spent youth was watching plays with him in them. My roommate and I saw The Maid's Tragedy so many times, that he took us out to dinner in lieu of having "a long service medal minted."
I don't know about The Crucible, however, I do know that he did Miller's adaptation of An Enemy of the People at the Young Vic. Stunning performance.

Date: 2003-01-24 03:33 am (UTC)I'm going to have to look up all these people on your list that I've never heard of, since I pretty much agree on all the ones I do know (except Daniel Radcliffe, because I've never seen him outside the movie, and Tom Welling, just because my pretty, pretty blue-eyed brunette slot was already filled by Paul Gross before I ever saw TW.)
