Missed the Rally

The sprained ankle meant I had to take Leave Without Pay and I had no leave time credited to take the hour and a half I'd have needed to attend.

Yes, this means that unlike the Mayor and our Delegate, I didn't get arrested. I'm not certain whether I'm happy or sad about it.

It's very shocking. And it's one thing (one very bad thing!) to have ended up with an unfortunate situation because of history but quite another for those in power to deliberately exploit it, knowing there can be no comeback. It reminds me of this exchange from "Whatever happened to Baby Jane"

Joan Crawford: You wouldn't be able to do these awful things to me if I weren't still in this chair!
