It hasn't been a great day. My shoulder aches, and I'm not certain why. It's been a long day, too.

And yet.

I had a humbug (boiled sweet, hard candy) today that tasted like a fresh orange. It filled me up for a moment.

Tonight coming back from dinner at an acquaintance's I walked under these huge apple trees in my neighborhood. I think they may be older than the houses that surround them. It's the end of season. The blossoms are beginning to fade, but the scent walking under them, while fainter, was blissfully sweet.

This has been a stunningly beautiful spring. There were also a couple of cherry trees (the flowering not the fruiting kind) that have so many blossoms they look like they're covered in pom-poms.

So much beauty on a soft spring night fills me with joy.
