I live in Al Jolson's old neighborhood.

I had no idea he grew up in DC. Apparently the Urban Renewal (please spit after saying that) displaced a relatively large Jewish population as well as the local Black population.

As for the neighborhood, I'm finding all sorts of cool things. I still haven't found the best route to the Jefferson Memorial even though it's less than a mile away.
