Why, yes, Mercury is still Retrograde.
Feb. 7th, 2008 11:29 amThere was good news and bad news.
Good news first: The apartment I want in Southwest DC is available. It's mine if I want it.
I haven't seen it, but I know the important things. There are three metro stops within walking distance and one of them is on the line that's most efficient to my office (and the other two are on the line that's not, so I can get to work either way). I'm within walking distance of a park to walk the dog (and the park leads to the Tidal Basin with the Jefferson Memorial and the Cherry Trees). If I don't mind a long walk, I can get to the Mall (For those of you not from DC, that's the greensward in the center of town which includes the FDR Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, and ten of the Smithsonian Museums.). The complex has a doorman. The apartment is on the third floor which means it's high enough not to be easily burgled, but won't trip my fear of heights. It's a relatively large one bedroom.
The internet is truly marvelous for moving.
Bad news: Rather than being available next week, the tenants have chosen to move out at the end of the month. This means it won't be available until March 7.
Watch Fabi do the dance of "where the fuck am I living for three weeks?"

Date: 2008-02-08 03:24 am (UTC)OTOH, the apartment sounds awesome.
Also, I have to ask: You have a dog? Have I just forgotten? Or did I miss something?
And I agree with you that the internet is awesome for moving. Our last move was made so much easier by being able to scope out things online first.

Date: 2008-02-08 05:14 am (UTC)I already know which Curves I want to join and where the yoga studio with the classes closest to the ones I took in California are. I LOVE the internet for moving!

Let the joy be unconfined. *G*
