Guns aren't shiny. The sound they make when they're cocked is surprising. I never want to see one again.

I had my purse stolen tonight. They got 28 dollars my house keys and ID with no address in it (the locks are still being changed tomorrow). The whole thing took less than a minute.

I'm fine. A little shocky, but I have a good housemate looking after me. I hate that this happened. The police have been called, and I know I did the right thing by neither fighting nor screaming. I walked away after a gun was pointed at my chest. I know I did the right thing.

But I never want to see a gun again.

OmG! Are you really okay, Fabi? Jesus. I don't even know what to say except to send you big hugs! If you want to talk on the phone, LMK and I'll give you a call tomorrow. God, there are some evil fucks in this world.

*super-big hugs*

I'm fine. A friend came by to put a lock on the door this morning, and I'm even more afraid to leave the house than I had been, but I AM okay.

Jerminating's been a really good housemate to me. He handled a paniced woman on the doorstep really well.

I may take you up on the call, later. Who knows what life'll be like when the sun goes down.

Thank you so much.

If you need to talk, I can call you tomorrow. I am so glad you are safe. This is terrifying. Just..just...

It was just so senseless. They got 28 dollars. And some nice lipstick. That's it they were going for the lipstick.

I'm hoping to go out later today, but I have a feeling that I'd really appreciate hearing a friendly voice at some point.

Oh my God Fabi! Are you alright? Yes, you did exactly the right thing. No need to risk your life over a little cash and a set of keys. Damn! Did you see the face of the person who did it? Has there been a rash of muggings in your neighborhood? I hope the police catch the fucker. Now I'm pissed on your behalf.

Damn it!

Take care Fabi. Don't let this rattle you.

It's so cold here that I feel like I was robbed by the Michelin man. Large down jackets with hoods cover many sins -- literally in this case.

No, so far as I know there hadn't been a rash of robberies. I hope this isn't the start of one either.

Having the new lock was very helpful psychologically.

Thank you for your good wishes.

Fabrisse, I was so saddened and shocked to hear this. I'm glad that you're okay for now, but don't feel bad if you react later - it's only natural when such a horrific thing happens to you. I'm just glad that you've got a supportive housemate on hand.

Take care

I went through some pretty bad hysteria last night. And some odd moments of humor. Today has seemed a little surreal. I went to the SciFiCon for what was supposed to be an hour and turned into alot more.

Night time is going to be a little rough for awhile, I think. But I *am* fine.

Thanks for the hugs, and the same back atcha.

Hey babe.

You did *exactly* the right thing and that's the best part of this. I got mugged in the Underground when I'd first moved to London, and I was insane enough to chase the fuckers all the way to the emergency stairs. Came to my senses just before trying to follow them up. Adrenaline halfwit, see.

New house locks are a pain in the butt, but pretty prudent from time to time anyway. Newer, less wear, so tighter.

Bad, bad karma on the gun-toters, of course - all of them.

And like Shawn, every time I ring you and get your caller-divert thing (since it won't recognise us International caller freaks) I leave a message, but I have no idea if it works and gets to you. I know this one will.

I'm thinking warm thoughts for you, sweetheart - and if you need to talk at any time - wake up in the wee small hours and can't drop back off - please call me. I'll bore you right back into the Land of Nod!

There was just this really silly moment during it where I went, "Oh, guns aren't shiny." That hesitation could have gotten me killed. And I hate that something that took maybe a minute and thirty seconds is having this big an impact on my life.

I don't know when the call diverting thing went on my phone. I think it has to do with unlisted and international numbers. My sister keeps getting caught by it. The plus side is, so do all the telemarketers.

I'm home all day tomorrow (Sunday), so if you're in and free -- please call. I have this whole no money for the last two months due to a bad client which is all that keeps me from picking up the phone and calling you.

You're a good friend.

On a happier note, it looks like I'll be in Britain for two weeks (last of May, first of June). Please tell me we can do a grown up girls have dinner together meeting.

Jesus Christ on a crutch Fabi. That is really awful. I'm so glad our [livejournal.com profile] jerminating is being a good roommate. I'm also glad that you didn't fight and weren't physically injured. This is a good time for you to drink lots of nice herbal tea.

I'm lucky we talked him into being a housemate. It was very rough last night and a little rough this morning, but I think I'm doing better now.

Do you work on Monday? If not, maybe we can arrange something.

Hugs.
