One of the things about travel is that I don't listen to music a lot. I'm far more likely to do it at home when I'm reading a book or on the computer. However, my car has a CD player, and I've been putting a few things in.

The two that have been running through my brain unbidden are "Wait a bit Joe" by Noel Coward and "Breeze on By" by Donny Osmond.

My constant repeats on the CD player are "Where's the Girl" sung by Terence Mann from The Scarlet Pimpernel cast album, "Lullaby for the First Born" from Acoustic Alchemy's Reference Point CD, and Suite II, song 4 "Bergamasca" from Respighi's Ancient Airs and Dances.

Or I should clarify: So, nu? You're in extremis. People in extremis flip. It's called manefesting the shadow. Heck, you might have flipped right down the line (with the understanding that for you, preferring N to S by a measley 3 % is essentially S :).

Ah. I was misreading those boxes at the bottom as where on the scale between letters you were. (Without knowing which, comparing your results to other peoples seems pretty meaningless to me.) Of course, that means my previous comments doesn't necesarily make any sense.

Manifesting the shadow. Sounds scary. Where would I find more?

There's a book by Quenk called Beside Ourselves which discusses it, but only really the negative aspects. Personally, I think it's obviously a survival trait that, when everything else is failed, we are hardwired to try being the exact opposite of hadn't been working out. It can be highly useful.

And I should say in fairness, the term "shadow" gets applied by different type theorists differently. Some, when talking about the shadow mean something different (and I think Quenk is one such).

I think you're just close enough to centered on most of the letters that you can come out w/ the wrong result just based on a couple questions, and are therefore really difficult to classify correctly. I'd have guessed for an F, though I could see you going either way on the E/I or the P/J. And don't forget that the online Meyers/Briggs are shortened anyway, so quite possibly not as accurate.

That would be my first guess, agreed. :-) But I think sometimes the questions are worded such that general tolerance comes out looking like P-ness, so if you're a fairly broadmined person, your results can get skewed that way.

I think you maybe right, I couldn't believe some of the questions. There were several where the right answer would have been "Neither, are you out of your mind?" but for some reason that was never an option.

I've had the "split down the middle" before on E/I. siderea's first approximation for me was E way back when. Actually the entire first approximation was ENTP, so I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised.

The P changed to a J pretty quickly -- like within two weeks of knowing me. *G*

I think in a 2-choice question, it's a little hard to account for someone who general acceptance as a black/white choice, rather than just eh-whatever-ness. Plus it seems to read messiness as a P-trait as well, which clearly isn't always an accurate indicator.

The E/I split doesn't surprise me. I tend to be an even split T/F, but be pretty decisive on everything else.

What do you normally come out as (and yes, I know I should know that.)

Oooh, tagged! :-) I always love to see what others are listening to. I have to admit that I don't know any of the music that you're listening to, but it's interesting all the same. :-)

I thought that personality test was a little off for me, too. As you mentioned, so many of the questions didn't have an answer that really made sense for me.
