My uncle called me a good hostess. My dementia!aunt physically threatened me. They've just left for the airport. I'm relieved. I'm a little conflicted.

A volunteer who works with the hospice will come sit with Mom tomorrow while I have my doctor's appointment. With luck, by COB tomorrow, I'll have my new reading glasses, my antidepressants, and about 4 hours where I'm not making certain Mom is okay.

Oh my dear. At least you're not schedule to have Weather, as so many of us are.

Are you having to lift or turn your Mom? That was the part that I found physically hugely demanding.

This is why I was doubtful about having her at home. Watch YouTube videos about how to do it, but you really need multiple sessions with a trained home health aide showing you how to do it and coaching you through it, because it's a "move your body this way" thing.

It brought me to tears, too.

Yay for getting hospice help.

And congratulations on making it through the first weekend. Here's a gold star.
