I caught this from [livejournal.com profile] riverfox.

1. What's your favorite thing to wear... or what you'd like to wear?
There's two ways to answer this. If you're talking about garments, then I really miss being able to fit into some of my antique cocktail dresses. I have one that was designed by Adrian that makes a woman look like a nun from the front and a courtesan from the back and I would love to be able to wear it again. *sigh*

But the other answer is, I'm a sensualist. My first thought when I read the question was silk -- heavy silk-satin with its lights, depths, and drapes swathing me. And then I thought cashmere. *g*

Seriously, texture is more important to me than color. Sometimes it's more important to me than fit which is why I hate shopping and should only be allowed to do it with someone who has veto power. Because, really, what's worse than a sensual fabric that you can't wear?

2. If you could make only one change, what would it be? (vaguely said on purpose -- leaving it to your own judgment how to answer)

In this country? Universal health care. In the world? Better allotment of resources so that no one ever has to go hungry. In myself? Laziness. It's a bad quality.

3. Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck?

Pepe LePew. *looks at question again*

All right, Daffy. Chuck Jones described Bugs as Henry Higgins at war with the forces of chaos which is a little pretentious, but not inaccurate. Frankly, I don't think Bugs cartoons hold up as well at least partially for that reason.

Daffy is chaos. Just look at their two different takes on Errol Flynn as Robin Hood. Bugs is Bugs; Daffy is Robin and can't convince Friar Tuck (Porky Pig) of the fact. Bugs is funny, but Daffy's gets funnier everytime I see it.

But my favorite "Looney Tune" is still Pepe. Who else could get away with the line, "Ah, mon cheri on top of the banana split of love!"?

4. What music do you like?

Jazz. Funk. Blues. Soul. Gospel. Trip-hop. African.

Some French chansons, most operas (19th and early 20th centuries). Gershwin. Ralph Vaughn Williams. Elgar. Faure. Bach. Vivaldi. Some Haydn and Beethoven. Purcell. Not fond of Handel other than the water music.

I've enjoyed most of the music when I go to hear medieval music, but some makes no sense whatsoever.

5. If you were on a real spaceship leaving Earth, where would you like to go, see, do?

Where do I want to go away from Earth? Or where would I visit before I went?

If it's the first, my only hope would be that the scientists are right and the destination is inhabitable (by me or my descendents) or terraformable. The thrill of being in space would be huge, and I don't have any idea what to expect. My favorite fictional examples would be Janet Kagan's Mirabile and Heinlein's Luna City (post-revolution).

If it's the second, I'd want to visit Australia, Brazil, the Serengetti, and Egypt (this time I'd see the pyramids). I'd also visit my old homesteads and friends in Mannheim, Brussels, and, most of all, London. If I were certain that I'd never return to Earth, I'd add India to the list.

I must admit that I'm more interested in the idea of living in an underwater habitat here on Earth than I am in going out into space. I think we need to find solutions to our housing and food problems here before we export them to the rest of the galaxy. The sea might be one potential solution.

How to pass it on:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

I'm wondering if I should pass the baton back to you, but... *gg*

Sorry I didn't make the last question clear. :-( I was thinking of places offplanet, but your answer about visiting Earth places was better. So I should have asked something like, "If you knew some idiot (like Marvin the Martian *g*) was going to blow up Earth in a week or so, and you had to get on the next ship out of here, where would you go on Earth before you left?" Or something silly like that. *gg*

And Pepe's lines... they're hysterical. Mel Blanc and Chuck Jones were geniuses with that silly skunk. :-)

Daffy and Bugs would be a hard choice for me because I like them for different reasons. Daffy's Duck Dodgers is hilarious (as is his assistant *g*) and his Robin Hood kills me. I love Daffy. I love Bugs for his hijinks. I call Daffy the practical joker who gets into everything. Bugs is the wise-ass who pisses off gangsters and baseball players, gives manicures to Evil Scientist's monsters, and who stole Marvin's Imudium P38 Explosive Space Modulator. (been a while, brain is fuzzy on the first word of that explosive) :-)

My favorite Warner Brothers cartoon ever is a Pepe Le Pew that's done as a single camera POV. It's amazingly inventive. I can't find it on any of the DVD anthologies. I guess I'm going to have to get the big expensive one at some point (or rejoin Netflix).

I can't find the name of my favorite Daffy cartoon. It's the one where he starts as one thing and keeps changing. He tries to keep up, but can't (at one point he ends up as a four legged thing with a flower headdress/coxcomb. The punchline is that it's Bugs messing with him, but it's Daffy that makes it work.

As far as the last question not being clear, don't worry about it. There are so many different answers even to the simplest questions, and the law of unintended consequences means that slightly murky wording can get you more interesting answers.

I love that. "You know, somehow I just don't feel like myself." Or something like that. LOL Of course, I had to use that pic for a "I read some bad fic" icon. I don't remember the name of that cartoon either. Perhaps the cartoon channel will show it again when they have another June Bugs marathon. *g*

And you're right. It's Daffy that makes that cartoon. :-)))

Yes! I knew I'd seen a pic somewhere recently. *g*

I hope I can see that one again soon. It really is one of the best of Warner Brothers.

My favorite cartoon of all time, though, is Goofy's guide to skiing. The narration is so precise and portentuous while Goofy is being himself in the background.

Okay, I'll play. :-) I feel pretty bold just saying, "Interview me," though. hehe I enjoyed reading your answers, though. Don't make the questions too difficult! ;-)

What is your idea of the perfect vacation?
Is there any object you can't live without (and why can't you if the answer is yes)?
What's your favorite movie of all time?
Is there any book that you'd unhesitatingly recommend as the "best book ever written in English?"
What's the best definition of love?

I don't know that I'm a sensualist, but how things feel to me is definitely more important than how things look. I actually can't stand the feel of silk or satin or anything smooth and slippery, though. I prefer the feel of cotton or stretchy jersey material that's at least partially cotton.

And antique cocktail dresses! That sounds lovely, though I'm seriously more the type that wears sweatpants around the house and jeans and a t-shirt to get "dressed up." :-)

Do you have any superstitions? If yes, please give an example.
What's the biggest political problem facing your city?
If you could change one thing about your house, what would it be?
What's your favorite song?
Is there a book that you'd love to read but haven't?
