Follow-up

After spending 8 hours in the emergency room yesterday, today was low key. We'll try to follow-up with Mom's doctors. We already have a cardiology appointment in three weeks.

The final diagnosis is something called ice-pick headaches. The doctor called it a form of migraine, but the migraine sites I found said it wasn't a migraine variant.

I want to call Mom's pain doctor. We'll be visiting family at the end of June with two detours (The Biltmore in NC where Dad hoped to take Mom for their 60th. He died 6 weeks before their anniversary. And the rural church where my grandfather preached for the first 15 years of Dad's life.). Mom will need a few extra pain pills for her time in the car. I'm not looking forward to sharing a room with Sis and Mom for at least 5 and possibly 6 nights.

Thank you for your support yesterday. I needed it.

Oh, geeze, I just am getting caught up, I'm so sorry. "Ice-pick headaches" sound horrifying, I hope your mom can get some relief from her pain doc. And I hope you're getting some good rest!

Appointment with pain doc on 22 June, so we should be able to get the extra pills for travel. Whether there's anything he can do for the ice-pick headaches is a bigger question.

Watching Mom clutch her head and throat was tough. The strokes took a great deal from her and I don't want her to lose her reading or other activities. She's not fond of audio books, so reading is still reading,but it can bring the ice-pick.
