He was a good housemate and is a good friend. Not many people could have coped with me immediately after the mugging, but he never made me feel stupid. The next day he made sure I got out of the house and said I could call him if I needed someone to walk me home. He kept the fear away.
This is on top of a killer sense of humor (it's quiet and sneaks up). And, as our former housemate Lucy once said, "Every once in awhile it becomes clear that he's an ambassador from Planet Pretty."
