Leaving my Job

I've been in Georgia to help out the family for 10 months at this point. Mom's not getting better -- she fell getting out of her chair yesterday -- and Sis can't handle it alone. I'm also at a point where if I don't go back to DC, they'll let me go for cause. If I resign, it doesn't reflect in my work history. I could work for the District again, in the future and it would help me with potentially getting state jobs in GA.

I'll be selling up in DC which I hate. In some ways it feels like a betrayal to come to a state where I have representation while the District still doesn't.

Mom said, "Not without a job, you're not!" which hurt. She accused me of sponging off them.

Sis explained that this was to relieve her mind as much as anything and that I'm the cheap option compared to home health aides.

Sis can only lift 10 pounds, max which means she can't even lift the dogs. I can lift 145 pounds -- though I a) want the PT people to show me the correct way to do it and when I shouldn't and b) want to go back to weight training, so that I feel stronger.

Mom's not pouting too much, fortunately, but it's tougher than I'd like. I'm going to see if I can work weekends at the local Barnes and Noble.

Sis is. She's the one who asked me to do it in the first place. Sis isn't as good about pointing things out to Mom, but she's been very supportive.

I've barely had a chance to live there. but sometimes, life has other plans.

I will. I'm sorry I missed our last one. After a doctor's appointment, not mine, I took a nap that lasted 6 hours.
