I'm playing two word games, one solitaire, one sudoku, and one mah jong matching game. My two "real" games on my phone are June's Journey and Design Home.

My current rant is mostly about Design Home. First of all, I enjoy it. I get to decorate rooms based on a one to two paragraph blurb about what the owners want and work within whatever restrictions are also imposed like the cocktail table has to be metal or a certain brand. That part's fine.

But there are the extras that players are not required to use. These things include flower arrangements or articles for table tops (virtually every cocktail table gets coffee or tea on it when I'm playing). It also includes things like rugs and table lamps (occasionally ceiling lamps).

Now I'm fine with people putting wall art like large paintings above the beds in a bedroom, even though a couple of years in California means I won't do it (mostly) myself. (In real life, I had a friend give me a textile wall hanging to put above my bed when I indicated that I didn't want to risk things falling in an earthquake. *sigh*)

Then there are the things I just don't get. We're told where the room is and often see the weather out the window. Why, if the room is above 39 latitude, do people not put rugs on the floor? If there's no other lighting, why omit a table lamp? I've gotten very judgmental in my voting that way. If there's snow on the ground through the window, where's the damned rug?
