New Residence

My folks sold their house in Los Angeles and bought a new one in Savannah, GA. They have decided, since there was a big discrepancy in prices, to put the downpayment on a condominium for me. I close on October 24, and complete the move by 17 November.

If you live in DC and want to come help me measure spaces this weekend during the inspection, you'd be welcomed. If you want ikea bookcases, barrel chairs, and possibly a rug or two, let me know.

For once, I'm not dreading a move.

!!! How wonderful! Are you still in the same ANC neighborhood?

No. If you type my current address into the police database, you'll find two murders in the last 8 months, and there's also been a fire in the building. I can't get down seven flights in an emergency with any kind of speed and I can't get myself out of a bad situation quickly. The cane is permanent. (Also, the prices and HOAs are higher in my current neighborhood.)

I'm going to miss living in the shadow of the capitol, but only needing to get down one flight in an emergency is going to help. Plus, I can still run for ANC, I just need to learn a new neighborhood's problems.
