Doctor Watson was INVALIDED out of the military, not INVALIDATED.
Also, he was an officer. If you want him coming up through the ranks, fine, but establish that. If he entered the military after university and medical school, then he did not enlist. He also can't be discharged. That's for lesser ranks. He retired (unlikely based on age) or resigned his commission or, as mentioned above, was invalided out.
Also, please learn the differences between ELUDING and ALLUDING. One involves the suspect getting away, the other involves referring to something commonly known or previous discussed without mentioning it directly.
