It's opening today. The Meter at Rottentomatoes is 13%. Ouch.

I really wanted a brilliant movie made from this wonderful book.

I saw the preview of the film when I saw Her and it didn't look very promising. The book was really good?

The book was brilliant. Note, in the book, the love story was a central, but minor plot. That is some indication of how little the movie has to do with the book.

The movie has cut out several key characters, re-sexed one (sort of), and promoted a minor character with a couple of chapters at the beginning and one chapter near the end to a major role. No. It's not the book.

I consider Winter's Tale to be the best book written in English. It's magic realism with a love of language and characters that make me cheer.
