I know Conservapedia exists, but, unless someone reminds me of the fact, I don't visit it. Today, some comments at Slate reminded me, and I went to the home page. One of the more popular articles today is on E=mc2.
I never knew that "Simply put, E=mc² is liberal claptrap."
After that, discussion is made of scientists who contributed to Einstein's thinking, but I came away wondering if Einstein's name were less Jewish would the writers at Conservapedia be so anxious to discredit his idea.
Possibly. Though, at least the hard religious right has been trying to be buddy buddy with Jews since some of them see Israel as playing into their own end-times theory...
But, you know, I looked at that site at the idea that the Earth is older than 6000 years old and they shoot that own as well. Bunch of young-earth conservatives! So, my guess is even if Einstein's name was Smith or Jones they'd still hate him. Look at how they hate Darwin, too!
Sorry, there should have been a brain bleach warning. Having said that, I think it's good to know it exists because then I have some idea what I'm fighting.
