My original assignment was in the "Wiseguy" fandom. -- Bronx Cheers and Jersey Barriers;

My first pinch hit... Look, someone requested "Edward & Mrs. Simpson" crackfic. Who could resist? Behold, the AU, Hanover's Seed.

I'm pretty sure all the rest were post-December 10 pinch-hits. At least two were written within hours of getting the assignment.

Discworld -- Of Empires and Education

16th & 17th Century playwright RPF (John Fletcher, Christopher Marlowe, and Philip Sidney were among the characters requested -- with Beaumont and Fletcher the OTP) -- A Cold Spring Evening in Southwark

Odette/Odile fiction from the ballet, Swan Lake -- The Hush of Society

I've loved the movie "Holiday" since I first saw it. -- Back in New York

"My Fair Lady" post-movie fic -- Knowing My Place

Next to Hanover's Seed, the "Buckaroo Banzai" story gave me the most headaches as far as tone. -- Buckaroo Banzai and the Solar Alliance

And finally, I ended up with a second Cary Grant/Katharine Hepburn movie, "The Philadelphia Story." -- After the Honeymoon

I did my best to fulfill the requests in everyone's "Dear Yuletide Author" letter.

Technically, I didn't request abdication crisis crackfic. I merely indicated that I was open to it. It was kind of an afterthought as I was writing my letter.

I'm so glad I did. I am utterly thrilled with "Hanover's Seed". It was everything I hoped for and could in no way imagine. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

And now I'm going to go read some more of your stories. I've a sneaking suspicion I'm going to really enjoy them -- I wrote "Stage Door" for one Yuletide and I'm a sucker for Miss Kate's' movies.

You left it as an option, and the bunny bit my ankle. ;-)

I'm so happy you liked it. The thing I love about Yuletide as a reader is that you do get things you could never imagine (my two Tron gifts last year). The thing I love as a writer is that you end up writing stories you would think were completely outside your wheelhouse. Writing your story gave me the confidence to attempt Buckaroo Banzai, strangely enough. And Odette/Odile...

Yay, Wiseguy! I was surprised (and pleased) to see so many people offer it and even more pleased to receive it. :D

I'm so glad you offered and got to write WG fic. Just have to say again how much I loved it. I did not participate in Yuletide but I have had you on my friends list (found on sportshoes, I think) to see when you blog and I keep up with anything new WG-wise on AO3 (new offerings...very rare) so it was a thrill to read your story on Christmas day.
