Gang Rape in Pakistan.
Read this. I'm currently sick to my stomach.

I have a couple of questions, though. The first is: With The New York Times recent history, do we know if this guy actually has fact checkers? Can anyone verify this story independently of The New York Times?

Once we've verified the above, the second question is: Can anyone give me an idea where I can go to donate $5.00 to her school?

Terrorism can't be fought with physical weapons (other than those used to destroy weapons stockpiles), but it can be fought with social change. Social change can be brought about with education.

As a nation we've spent $200,000,000,000.00 on the war with Iraq (I'm going with a number I've seen bandied about at Salon.com and Slate.com not an official figure. They could be including the budget for Afghanistan.) Can you imagine what $2,000.00 could do for social change if distributed well?

I don't think I'm comparing apples and oranges here, either. Social change is our goal. The US wants the people that we're "liberating" to see the value of freedom. Education will achieve our goal more certainly than blowing up their families.

On a completely shallow note:
Please watch Veronica Mars on UPN Tuesdays, 9pm Eastern/Pacific. It's well written, well-acted, and fun. And it keeps my sister employed -- she's an assistant editor.

Infuriating, I know.

It's so far beyond infuriating that I have no words.

Taping's fine. I'm glad you're enjoying the show. I miss having you around.
