ETA: The woman whom I said belittled me in my last post has officially been made my supervisor. I have agreed to stay and see if the big boss can keep it civil -- and my first choice would be to be based at one of the centers -- but I have to be able to walk out should it become intolerable. Hence, needing something in a hurry.

Yikes! I'm off to Kentucky for work for a couple of days, but shall really have to call you.

I'm even going to be in DC this weekend, but only for 27 hours- stopping my flight home overnight to go to my new niece's christening Saturday. Didn't think there'd be any time away from family on such a short visit, or I'd've checked in to see if you were available.

If you're not already Federal, then your chances are probably going to be lowish (unless you've got military experience.) I've found at my agency that most of the people who are getting on the "pick from these people" list got there because they got extra qualifying points for being a veteran.

WTF? When last I tuned in, the new boss sounded like he was listening to you and being reasonable and stuff. What happened?

He decided to create a performance team with someone in charge of it with whom I cannot work long term. We're trying to figure something out with my duties separate from hers, but as long as she is my supervisor, I'm crying all the time. I can feel the depression trying to get back in, and I hate fighting when I'm not sure I can win.

Last Monday was such a good day. Now, I dread everything.
