Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale

Not season finale, SERIES finale. The last episode of season three has a conversation between Nick and LaCroix which is seen at an odd angle through a blurry lens. There are flashbacks all leading up to this conversation, and, by the end...


... I realized that the perspective was that of a dying Natalie and Nick was begging LaCroix to kill them both.

It's absolutely perfect, even as it's more than a little sick. I certainly think it's as good an ending as any other vampire series has managed.

Oh yes. I remember the emotional impact of that ending. It was very well done and very powerful. You know, I've only seem it once, but I still recall how well done it was.

I was emotionally wrecked by that ending. I haven't seen it again, either. I know it's up on Hulu, but I keep avoiding it because I'm not sure I can take it.

I remember feeling like I had been slapped upside the head once I figured out what was happening. That was one of those creative/artsy endings that I can somewhat appreciate for their concept, but made the fan in me spit nails in anger.

I'd only seen season 3, so I didn't realize much of the mythology surrounding LaCroix and Janette with Nick which might have upset me. The Natalie/Nick of season 3, well, there were only two ways it could go. I know there's a great deal of fanfic where LaCroix takes it the other way. *G*

Yeah, I know. Doesn't help that every damn time I write on my LJ, it gets thrown back in my face later on as means of guilt-tripping. Apparently I shouldn't be doing anything on my computer but finding another place to live. Hell, I've already been threatened with cutting off my internet by the end of the month.
