Before I create an LJ cut, I'll say three non-spoilery things. I loved it. Mike Newell showed the Britain I know and love with all its greyness and rain and fog. I found myself actively homesick. It was a shock.

The second is that I'm so happy John Williams didn't do the music. Patrick Doyle's (Henry V, Indochine, Sense and Sensibility) score was subtle and very beautiful. He used Williams' "Hedwig's Theme" over the opening credits, but the difference in scoring made it sound fresh and romantic. I found myself listening in ways that I hadn't before.

Daniel Radcliffe is coming into his own as an actor.

If anyone knows where I can get some good wallpapers or lj icons from the movie, let me know.
