Still no email account because everyone thought someone else had asked for it. I'm the one who can't ask for it because a)I'm too low on the totem pole and b) IS only accepts email requests. It has been faithfully promised for tomorrow.

At the suggestion of my co-worker, E. -- the one who passed along the Rome lead -- I left a copy of the draft itinerary on another co-worker's desk. W. used to head the department, but stepped down to spend more time with her family. She'd given me some work yesterday, writing documents for an Eastern Europe tour and proofing her documents for a Portugal Tour yesterday. Even on my first day in groups she gave me proofreading work.

I came in this morning and she'd talked to the travel agent who'd sent the original request and told me I'd spent too much time on something without more details (I had one major and two minor changes to make -- they took five minutes because I already had a working document to correct).

For the rest of the day, she gave the proofreading to other co-workers -- people who were actually busy. I'm left with the impression that I've made an enemy. I'm not quite sure how.

In the meantime, E. asked me to research Sign Language schools in Britain and France for one tour and gave me solid advice about my itinerary and documents. They're all ready to go as soon as the email is up.

So. A mixed day.

Los Angeles traffic weirdness will wait for another post. *G*
