I don't think of Foxtrot as a particularly political cartoon, but I like this one.

By the way, why is it that the geeks I know all understand why there must be a papertrail, but many of the non-computer people don't? Is it a variation on computers are magic/perfect?

I'm not certain I can watch the whole debate. I've already finished my allotted alcohol for the evening, and Bush is answering most questions with double-talk that makes Orwell look like a piker.

He's saying that there will be no draft because "The all-volunteer army works." He's saying that not allowing the troops to rotate home is making life easier on military families because there are fewer rotations. So, if my Dad had stayed for two years per tour in Viet Nam, that would have been easier on my family? The HELL!?!

Bush has over-ridden the moderator.

I'm furious.

And just allow me to add: Please go back and read my diatribe against calling the United States anyone's homeland. We aren't a homeland or heimat. We were never intended to be. We are the words of our Constitution and Bill of Rights. We are joined by law not land. It's who we are, and who we should remain.
