Has anyone used Google Analytics?

I'm doing a project for my office and need help. Essentially my boss wants random users of our website to be given a survey for further analysis of our customer relations.

Been thinking about signing up for this, given recs on a few web designer sites. The only reason I haven't is that sometimes, when I'm on a site that uses Google Analytics, the stats loading takes the page itself a bit longer to load.
