Oh, that is 'squee' worthy, indeed. I miss lightening bugs. They are so very, very cool and are actually on my list of reasons to move back East. (I don't miss mosquitoes, though. Yucky things (we don't have very many here)).
Oh, you have no idea how much I want to say yes. I keep hoping I'll get a job interview and thus have a reason to fly to DC. (Of course, I really need to expand my job search from just fed jobs though). If I was just responsible for me, I would be there on the 4th in a heartbeat. Sadly, between caring for my mom and my dog, it's not that easy (especially the mom part). But... let me see what I can do because you have no idea how incredibly cool the combination of lightning bugs and fireworks (and actually meeting you) sounds.
Oh you're so lucky :) The first time I ever saw those when mum and Dad were living in Virginia, I just couldn't believe anything so cool were actually real. They look like the world's best special effect or something.
They are like a special effect. These are very yellow lightning bugs. Up on Eastern Shore and in West Virginia, they used to have a slightly greener light. The coolest ones I ever saw were on the Rhein (I know! I didn't know Germany had them either.) which shone blue.
