I went out and had a good time yesterday.

Sadly, sunny day with lots of snow ended up equaling migraine later in the evening and today.

However, up until the migraine, it was a great day.

I went to the Hirshhorn Museum which is the Modern Art branch of the Smithsonian. On a day when the world was black, white, or brownish-grey, it was nice to go to an exhibit of Josef Albers work. He did a great deal with color theory.

Later, I rested in the room that has a great view of the National Mall. I was treated to a seven-year old boy who looked at one of the works in the room and said, "That painting. Is. Awesome!" It wasn't a painting I particularly liked, but it was so wonderful to have a child express an opinion.

The girls I tutor just shrug alot.

Do you remember what painting he thought was Awesome?

I don't know if the shrugging is because their feelings are so confused, or because they don't want to tell *you*.

The Collection Highlights page isn't helping me. It was a series of lines that gave an illusion of depth.

Yeah, some of it is that they don't want to share with adults. But most of it is because they don't want to be seen as different so they're waiting for the others to say if it's OK to like or dislike something.

I get frustrated.*G*

So sorry you got a migraine. Bright light on white has triggered them in me on a couple of occasions too. I hope you feel better today.

That must be so maddening about the girls who don't venture opinions. I hope they have them secretly and just don't want to air them for whatever reason.

I'm doing a bit better, but I'm going to go to bed early to see if it helps.
