I can sort of see the highway through this current band of snow. I just watched an ambulance with full lights go down it at 20 mph. This is scary.
There were a couple of hours today when the snowplows had to be pulled because the visibility was just too low and the winds were too high. Most of the vehicles that needed to be rescued today were SUVs tipped by the winds.
The winds are going to continue through tomorrow. The Federal Government is closed. Metro will have no bus service and only operate underground.
And once again, I still don't know whether DC government will be required to go in.
eta: DC Government is closed other than emergency personnel. It didn't get posted until after 11:30 pm.

Date: 2010-02-11 08:28 pm (UTC)The winds have finally died down. The highway is not very busy, and the traffic is (mostly) slower than normal. Work tomorrow, then a three day weekend.
