We've already had 4" accumulate according to the people at American University (some suburbs are reporting more). There's fog with the snow right now. As the night wears on, we're supposed to get 2 to 3" per hour throughout the night. The storm is set to last throughout tomorrow and into the night.

28" is the upper prediction.

I'm planning to make cabbage and white bean soup tomorrow. Should be good.

Yay for being cozy in the snowed in day

And why aren't you watching MS in Smallville? ;-)

It's just wacky that you guys are getting more snow that we are this winter.

We've hit true blizzard conditions in the last half hour. I can see a light in one of the other apartment buildings in my complex, but essentially, we're in whiteout with winds. No visibility.

It's stunning.

Being inside all cozy and warm is the best way to enjoy the beauty of snow like that. I used to sit on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa and watch it fall.

No milk, so no cocoa. *sniff*

But coffee isn't too poor a substitute first thing in the morning. I'll probably drink a lot of tea over the next couple of days too.

Stay warm and cozy and enjoy your soup! Snow is beautiful to look at (although admittedly my years in California have made me a weather wimp).

Yeah. My folks are in the Los Angeles area. I got a lot of warm sweaters for Christmas because they worry. *G* Mom wears wool if it dips down to 60F and I consider wool to be something I wear around 25F.

I think this is where I should be offering commiserations on the conditions but I can't - the kid in me still just thinks "SNOW!"

Snow :)

Since I'm not out in it, just watching, I'm having a lot of that "Whee!" feeling too. Still, it's odd to see drifts on my balcony.
