A view into the minds of my students

One remark has really stuck with me from last week's session. Only two of my students were there and we've been given a new meeting room: a teacher's lounge.

This inspired the following from both girls:

"Teachers are weird because they read during their lunch hours."

We ended up talking about why someone would choose to read for fun, but neither of them was convinced.

Did I ever tell you about the conversation I overheard on the El a couple of years ago? Two college-age young men were talking about a girl and one of them sneered, "She's always carrying around a book." I don't remember exactly what he said after that but it was along the lines of "who does that?"

Thank you. I took in my computer and Fantasia as an end of semester treat. They hated the fact the music didn't have words.
