Made it through the first week
Aug. 8th, 2009 12:23 pmThe good:
I have an office of my own.
I've taken care of all the HR stuff, so I'll get a paycheck in three weeks and health insurance should kick in by August 17.
I'm walking to and from work, that's 2.5 to 2.8 miles each way depending on the route. The woman in the office across the hall from me started the same day I did. She's taken to walking the homeward route with me, at least part of the way.
There's an Ethiopian coffee shop down the road that roasts their own free trade, shade grown coffee. Yeah, it's good.
The bad:
Not enough to do yet.
No windows.
Prescription ran out before health insurance kicked in.
On balance, not too bad.
