I just saw the entire Capitol Fourth! Fireworks from my Balcony! I saw the whole thing with the Washington Monument over to one side.

I adore fireworks. I always feel such joy and awe watching them. But I'm terrified of heights and had never been out on my balcony before. I heard the first booms and went on out.

They were beautiful.

So cool! When I was 8, I went to DC for the 4th of July. :) I still remember the festivities on the Mall.

I decided not to go mingle. The humidity was sky-high and I don't do well in crowds. But it was great to get the fireworks without the crowds. Wish I could say it was also without the bugs...
