He was never one of my favorite authors, but I've read most of his classic short stories. With Heinlein and Asimov both dead, is he the last of the classic era sci-fi writers to go?

Well, add it to the loss of Stanislaw Lem a couple of years ago and it begins to look that way.

Comfortingly, however, Richard Matheson is still very much alive. As is Harlan Ellison.
