I'm fascinated by raptors, so would have liked one of those. If I had to be a non-raptor bird, I'd've liked hummingbird or raven. Otherwise, any mammal that isn't classified under rodentia. Heck, I'd've settled for a platypus since I've always been considered odd.
The more I think about it, I wouldn't have been at all surprised if I'd gotten a brown bear as my patronus. I sleep alot, eat more in the winter, like fruit and salmon, and generally don't show my temper if people leave me alone.
So, Belgian Malinois... have you watched Person of Interest? In the second season, a Malinois named Bear joins the team. And he has a Twitter account.
