Yuletide, part 1

I was a very lucky girl and got three gifts this year.

Two were in Easy Virtue (2008):
Afterwards by Sarren is a continuation of the comedic dynamic between Furber, the butler, and Larita and Jim.

Strangers Making the Most of the Dark by innie is also an after the movie story, but its tone is more realistic with an interesting dynamic between Jim and Larita.

Permanent Record is an hilarious look at the life of Jane-Louise Blue, daughter of Jane and Jefferson Blue. If you've seen the movie Undercover Blues, it's hilarious. If you haven't seen the movie, it's still very funny.

I'm separating what I got from what I gave this year, in the hope that the tags will work correctly.

Yuletide, part 2

I was matched on the R.E.D. movies and wrote Girls' Day for prinzenhasserin. It's Victoria Winslow bonding with Sarah Ross and is tagged with the Misses Clause Challenge.

My first pinch-hit was Meet and Talk for ourseparatedcities in the Sense8 fandom. If you haven't seen this series, please go use your Netflix subscription to watch it. There's more than a little sex and violence, but this series comes down on the side of empathy and understanding. It's visually gorgeous and generally well-acted. Tagged Chromatic Yuletide.

Innie was kind enough to give me a story, so it was a pleasure to find out that my next pinch-hit, Trastevere in the Zen (TV) fandom was a return gift. It's case fic with character studies.

New Orleans - October-November 1908 was for Karios. Timeless is a conspiracy theory/time travel show. It can be quite good, but the history is a bit loose. I tried to treat a possible moment in history with respect. Also tagged Chromatic Yuletide.

The Good Place is a big fandom this Yule. (No Yuletide fandom is really big, but it was very popular.) The show itself name checks all the biggest philosophers and is generally very thoughtful. Attempts 215-219 was my gift to jamjar in this fandom.

Christmas Eve deals with proper Venetian cookery by Guido Brunetti and his wife Paola. I've loved the Brunetti books for a long time, but stayed with a character piece rather than try to write a case for him. Apparently, it was written for "Account Deleted." I hope other people enjoy it.

For Vashti, I wrote New Old Love for the movie The Lake House. I nearly requested the film, too, but went with The Illusionist instead.

My last pinch-hit (and I didn't have any 23 or 24 December ones this year) was for Bahamut225 in the Cinderella (2005) movie fandom. It's called Thoughts of a Lizard.

I also wrote a treat for Yeomanrand. It's for Now You See Me and is called The Act.
