I had a terrific time in Boston. I spent time with [livejournal.com profile] eanja whose birthday was yesterday. We hit Isabella Stewart Gardner and the MFA, and I know I want to go back to the MFA at some point during Arisia weekend. There's this Aphrodite exhibit... *G*

I also spent a great deal of time talking to [livejournal.com profile] siderea about the book All Things Shining. I think the book is a bit sexist and it reeks of privilege in many ways, but, after talking with Siderea, I'm planning to reread it with larger points in mind. The authors are onto a real idea about the sacred and the human need for it, but I can't help but wish they hadn't ignored huge swathes of history in making their point.

The Lord and Lady of Canterbury were more than helpful about The Wharf and what I need to think about and do to keep it going well for the city and the neighborhood.

And I had a dosa with a book pusher who insists she's scruffy, [livejournal.com profile] moria923, [livejournal.com profile] thorbol, [livejournal.com profile] eanja and the Canterburys on Sunday before catching my train.

It was a good weekend.

Doctor O'Toole was one of the speakers at the Serial Killer lecture I attended last year.

Dangerous Instincts is her new book and the article I've linked to is an interview with her in The Washington Post.

I can't tell you how dynamic and engaging she was -- witty, too.

Go. Read.
