Culture, sort of...
Sep. 18th, 2010 12:11 amI read Pratchett's I Shall Wear Midnight, the latest Tiffany Aching book, this week. It was nice to see old friends. I remember the first Pratchett I read was Equal Rites when it first came out in US paperback. It was years before I knew anyone else who read his stuff, but by the time the next one arrive (Mort? Sourcery), I'd read the first two books and Good Omens.
For some reason, I missed that a sequel to Cyteen had come out, so I'm currently reading C.J. Cherryh's Regenesis.
I saw Easy A today, and found it witty, charming, and an excellent treatise on the dynamics of "slut shaming." I want everyone to see it so I can get all the cool reactions from my friends because I think it will provoke conversations. Plus, Emma Stone is HOT.
