I've learned a new word
Feb. 28th, 2010 09:07 amTheodicy. This is an especially good word to have learned today because that's what yesterday's God conversation with the Elders was about. (I have another new one by the way. He's a convert from, originally, Sudan and absolutely lovely to talk with.)
They were both very surprised that I occasionally listen to rap. *G*
And my favorite part of yesterday was the elder I've known longest -- the one that just turned twenty -- kept looking down as we walked because there were too many pretty girls on the street and he was trying to keep his thoughts chaste.
I had two answers to that, the first was, "You're twenty. Don't worry about it so much." The second was, "You'll never make it through a summer here. In all this heat, the sundresses can leave very little to the imagination." He looked vaguely panicked at the idea.
