Wanderings
Feb. 1st, 2009 01:14 amI walked up to the National Building Museum. Saw two exhibits then walked to where my Monday interview will be and back home.
Were I to get the job, I'd probably walk to and from work most days. It's two miles.
Saw a friend of mine on Friday. She gave me some good advice about interview clothes, etc. I appreciate it, but I really hate that she told me I should dye my hair. Her point, that age discrimination exists and is often subconscious, is valid, but I like my grey streak. I also don't think, perhaps incorrectly, that I look that old.
Things are somewhat more complicated here than in Boston. There's no way I can interview without makeup, for instance. It's just not done.
