I got in at 1 minute before midnight.
My apartment is a mess, but that's OK. It's my mess. I was interested to see how nervous the other people on the Supershuttle were going into "that" neighborhood. *eyeroll*
There are places in DC that make me a little nervous at night (and a couple that would outright scare me during the day), but my neighborhood isn't one of them.
I woke up earlier than I would have liked in order to walk the dogs with my dad this morning. He told me he insisted that I come so I could see he wasn't under immediate threat from his disease. He didn't look bad at all. Tired, yes, but not unhealthy. He also looks ten years younger than his brother who's only eleven months older.
Tomorrow, I'm calling the brother of my cousin's wife. He's a prominent black preacher here in DC and may have some influence with the DC public school system. Even if he doesn't, a Baptist minister who runs a program for reproductive choice is someone I want to meet.
