REGISTERED!
Oct. 6th, 2008 07:38 pmWashington D.C. has a minimum residency requirement before permitting voter registration. Mine wasn't up until September 1.
Then work got out of control, and, on October 1, I found out the voter registration deadline was today. The offices are open until midnight.
My whole process took ten minutes -- five minutes to fill in the form on the computer, print it out, and sign it. And another five minutes to turn it in at Judiciary Square.
Since the office is near the National Building Museum, I knew my way home. I stayed close to the Capitol tonight rather than walking farther down the mall. It was a beautiful walk with the Washington Monument tinted by the earliest part of the sunset.
