The universe
Feb. 12th, 2008 11:28 pmBut first -- I had a lovely meal with
siderea tonight. Good food, good company, and good conversation. Bad snow though. It was so fine, I couldn't tell it was falling until it obviously had been for a little while. *sigh*
I also -- thanks to the Bank of America credit card interest increase among other things -- finally got off my butt and opened an account at Wainwright Bank. It's the only US bank to date to subscribe to the international standards of socially responsible banking. There is also RSF bank out of New York and San Francisco, but they aren't listed with Credit Suisse and some of the others in Europe and Asia. I don't know if they're newer or just haven't signed the form.
The universe has been sending things my way recently, telling me the move to DC is the right thing. My two latest examples are 1) I got my final approval letter for the apartment. The rent is $64 cheaper per month than I was originally told, and I get the rest of February for free.
2) I've been worried about Oliver. I'm not used to owning a dog. It was very easy to find the information I wanted when I came to Boston, but Oliver won't be joining me here. So I tried to find similar information about DC and came up blank. Today, while stopping at Harvard Coop to use the restroom, I spotted this month's Washingtonian Magazine. I picked it up and there, on the cover, it announced itself as "The Pet Issue" with everything a DC pet owner needs to know about Vets, licenses, public transportation rules....
My big universe question right now? Will it give me good weather for the drive?
