1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, your favorite kind of sandwhich, or maybe your favorite game

2. I will respond by asking you 5 semi-personal questions so I can get to know you better.

3. Update your LJ with the answers to those questions.

4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your post.

5. When others respond ith a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.

[livejournal.com profile] oh_mcgee's questions for me were:
1. Single or married?
Single. I've had three long term relationships: two with men, one with a woman. None of them were life time commitments.

2. What was your favorite book when you were a child and why?
This one is tough. The one book I reread every year, once I'd discovered it in fourth grade, was Daddy Long Legs by Jean Webster. But I had a huge devotion to the Anne of Green Gables series beginning when I was seven. However, I didn't get to read my favorite book in the series,Anne of the Island, until about the same time as Daddy Long Legs. What I loved about both of them were their descriptions of college life. In that sense, Daddy Long Legs was the better book because Judy Abbott had a much wider range of experience -- she was on the Basketball and Track teams as well as being a good enough student to get a scholarship -- than Anne managed. Moreover, Daddy Long Legs had the same appeal that LJ does. You're reading one person's thoughts and perceptions about herself. The perceptions change, but the underlying person develops. I hope that makes sense.

3. If someone held a knife to your throat and made you chose -- Nathan or Peter?
No contest. Nathan. He may have fewer powers, but he's the one I'd want on my side in a fight. Plus, the actor has a deeper sensual appeal for me (I've always been attracted by voice more than sight -- and in his case the sight is pretty damn good too).

4. Do you have any other favorite TV shows other than Heroes?
My current viewing is pretty limited. Criminal Minds which I forgot to tape tonight, dammit. Numb3rs partially because a friend of my sister's is a writer for the show, but mostly because I love the family dynamic of the Eppes and their friends. When they are on, I adore both The 4400 and Eureka. I'm still pining for Stargate SG-1 and I hope to have my Teal'c's Thanksgiving fanfic finished soon.

5. What your favorite brand and flavor of ice cream?
I don't think Haagen Daz still makes Honey ice cream, but when they did, Wow. When I was a kid, there was a local ice cream shop called Giffords that had many unusual flavors (including a claret sauce) for both the ice creams and toppings. I still have daydreams about the texture of their Swiss Chocolate Ice Cream -- and there are times when I think I can feel the velvety creaminess of the Swiss Chocolate Sauce on my tongue. Other than that, I like almost any brand of green tea Ice cream. There's something about the bitterness of the tea and the smoothness of the custard base that come together magically.
