Day Off -- Sort of
May. 9th, 2007 09:53 amToday is something of a mixed blessing. I have the day off, and will be taking part of the day easy.
The part that makes it mixed, is that I have the day off to take a thallium stress test.
I've had one before, just over a decade ago. No one warned me that there's a side effect for some people. Apparently .1% of the population feels a burning sensation when the isotope is injected. I'm in this group and the anticipation of having every blood vessel in my body feel like it's on fire for an hour is stressing me a bit.
There's also the fun of doing this test on a sprained ankle. It's much better than it was, but it isn't good yet.
I'll update this when I've come back from the appointment. Maybe I'll do better this time.
*****
It was easier this time. My ankle hurts from all the walking, but the isotope didn't burn as badly as before.
However, I did manage to bleed all over the equipment. They pushed the saline flush in so hard that there was backflow. Then they had to worry that the isotope made it in, so they waved a geiger counter over me.
Anyway.... I assume I'll get results at some point.
