Bush Goes

I think many of us are agreed on the main goal for the US Presidential election that I've stated above. Having said that, I'm voting in the local Democratic primary next Tuesday and will discuss my choice later.

My biggest problem is that I'm good at ideas, but often don't know how to implement them. So, free for implementation is my latest idea.

Over the next few months, Fearless Leader will be making all sorts of speeches at all sorts of rallies all over the country. Bush is a poor extemporaneous speaker and one who is easily thrown by unexpected reactions from an audience. There have been problems with protestors being kept away from Bush events under the rubric of National Security. So, I suggest that anytime Bush speaks in your neck of the woods, you should attend. Dress up in your best Republican drag. Don't take any signs. Go and attend the speech. Bring your friends -- lots of them. Get seats close to the podium if you can.

Now here's the hard part. Sit through the speech without reacting. Stand when the President enters or leaves. Sit down the rest of the time. Don't boo or hiss because you might be escorted outside. Sit there with a look of polite attention in blocks of ten or more throughout the hall. That's it. Bush leaves pauses for cheers. Get as many non-Republicans as you can there and make certain that at best the cheering is weak, separate, and sporadic. Don't do anything that will make you seem like anything other than an interested spectator. At the end of the speech, applaud like it's a golf game, so you're not singled out.

Think about it. No cheering soundbites on the nightly news. A chance to flummox the candidate without doing anything impolite or improper. Right now his security is so tight that potential hecklers can't get in. Protestors aren't going to be let within a country mile of the candidate.
