For awhile it was raining so hard I couldn't see the highway or the Capitol, both of which are well lit.
We have tornado warnings here until 4 a.m. That's SOOOOOO not normal for DC.
You just know someone is going to blame gay marriage. *G*
There were some pictures on the news tonight: The hills of West Virginia are getting hit very hard. I had some flashbacks to Hurricane (OK, it was just a Tropical storm, but I grew up calling it a hurricane) Agnes. I was at summer camp and we ran out of food, very briefly. We missed one meal before the boat arrived to bring supplies in. I still remember breakfast that morning, sour chocolate milk over rice krispies.

Date: 2009-05-08 01:05 am (UTC)I normally love rain sheets. As long as I'm safely inside and there aren't any other storm warning. Yeeeeeesh.
LOL No shit. These days, the bigots blame shifts of temperature on gays.
I've never been in a hurricane--that is, the eastern version. I've been in a typhoon along the coast of Korea. That wasn't bad, but it wasn't exactly fun either. *g*

Date: 2009-05-08 01:32 am (UTC)LOL Yeah, when they get them over here, like they do in India, it's the usual massive amounts of rain. Winds can be high, but nowhere near category 4 or 5 'canes. At least, not that I've noticed in the last 30 years.
