[Poll #2015833]

This poll brought to you by my sprained ankle, which had been feeling better until three young children managed to kick it on their way onto the metro this evening. The car wasn't crowded. They could easily have walked around the pole and missed me. I'd have settled for a simple oops.

ETA: And I managed to misspell "too" in the original question. This is not my day.

I hope you feel better!

And I can't believe the parents didn't make their kids apologize. :(

I'm used to tourists being rude, but this went above and beyond.

I can't have surgery on the left foot until the right ankle heals enough to support my full weight. I could be wrong, but this feels like a set back.

I think some of it depends on the age of the child. If they were little I would apologize, if they were older than about four we both would.

Oh yes, I didn't see this comment before I commented, but I agree about that "older than about four" qualifier.

I'm not a parent, but my preference would be for the parent to apologize and to ALSO make the child apologize. As a non-parent, I am always impressed when a child is courteous to me (and that in itself is a sad commentary on where manners have gone).

Too true.

I didn't so much care about the apology, and I could've accepted that the parent had just missed what happened were it not for the dirty look. And then the next two kids came in, each with an adult attached, and kicked my ankle in passing again. I'd pulled my feet back as far as I could without catching the cast on the seat edge.
