Still Sick
I called an ambulance at 2 a.m.
They were surprised by how much vomiting I'd done. Then they found out I'd had even more diarrhea and were shocked.
They put me on an IV to combat dehydration, added an anti-nausea medication once the doctor saw me, and finally sent me home around 8 a.m. with strict instructions to eat very lightly today and probably tomorrow. I have more of the anti-nausea medication and can take it sub-lingually in an hour.
Since everything can have a silver lining...
For the first time in the fifteen years I've lived in DC off and on, I saw the cherry blossoms at their peak. The cab driver who picked me up outside GW Hospital (very nice, btw) took the route past the Jefferson Memorial to get me to my local CVS to pick up my prescription. Just glorious.
Now that I'm home, I hope I can get some rest. The last night was not restful.
