Another Death

Stan Winston, a special effects maven, died.

Among other things, he worked on the Jurassic Park franchise.

I thought of you today, Fabrisse and your post about the death of Arthus C. Clarke and how he might have been the last of the classic Sci Fi writers. Because it occurred to me in composing my list of those left to cheer you up, I had entirely forgotten about Ray Bradbury who is still hanging in there at 88.

So, erm to your post is IS sad when giants of the Entertainment industry pass on. I think it's sadder somehow when I thought they had passed on already. Your post, for example made me look to see if Ray Harryhausen is still alive and I'm pleased to learn that he is! (He is also 88). So I feel slightly cheered up as I thought he died decades ago.

Yea! Bradbury. And Ray Harryhausen -- he has such a distinctive style.

Thank you.

Tragic, isn't it? I'm a little bit upset. I really loved his work on so many great films.

Edward Scissorhands, especially for me.

He did the elaborate make-up for The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, too.

This has been a really rough few days for me with famous deaths.

It's just so sad. I know they have to go eventually, but dammit.
