(no subject)

Could someone help me out with some LJ icons? I'd like some from public domain art works, but have no visual ability whatsoever.

If that mean's make icons out of regular (non-smallville/tv/whatever) pictures, sure I'll help. I'm not very good tho.

Hey fabrisse,

This is Lexual Healing. I wanted to ask you for a favor. I'll send you an email.

Heh. Funny, I posted an offer of sorts to do just that for anyone who asks just a couple of hours ago. I have tons of pretty artwork to use. What did you have in mind?

Well, on my webpage some one used the Klimt Hypatia(sic?) for the entrance page. Oddly enough, that's one piece that I really like and would like to use as a default icon. Especially as most of my lj posts are non-Smallville (though most of my comments in other ljs are Smallville related).

So, basically, female images. Preferably dark haired from Roman times, the 18th century, and/or Art Nouveau iconography and art.

I got your e:mail. Let me know.

Either. I'm looking especially for a good default icon.

Hugs

Yep, non-Smallville. Preferably portraits or sculpture rather than television or film. Although a great Marlene Dietrich portrait should be in every girl's LJ wardrobe.*g*

Much love, dear.

[identity profile] fabrisse.livejournal.com 2003-01-17 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh, scanned photos. Lacking a scanner myself, I thought that wasn't possible for me. Yes, let's see what we can do.

Working for Arisia yesterday got a little overwhelming, so I'm not sure if I can be there this weekend. Noise is really taking its toll.

I'll look for you, if I make it.

I've looked through my art books to see if I had anything you'd like that I can scan. I came up with very little, although if you like this icon (look above), I can send it to you. The only other pictures I have that might match your requirements are Harry Bates' "Mors Janus Vitae", a rather lovely bronze and ivory sculpture depicting a nude girl, Life, in the arms of Winged Death, and John Duncan's "St Bride" which just might come under Art Nouveau (it's early 20th century Glasgow school)

I'm happy to look in my local library and see what they have and scan anything you may like if you're still stuck, but that wouldn't be until the middle of next week at the earliest...

I like that icon alot. Whether she's reading or singing, it's very me.

And I love Rennie Mackintosh, I assume Duncan's works have similarities? Those would be wonderful.

Thank you.

I'll email them to you later today - that'll be better quality I think than you just copying the icon.

If you don't want to use them, no worries, I won't be offended :-)
